Great photos and storytelling! I can commiserate on both being a beach lover and reflecting the sun. Years ago, when my husband and I got back from our honeymoon in Jamaica - he a beautiful bronze color and me as pale as always - people asked me if I had gone with him.

Thanks for reading, Alicia. Yes, I’m so used to comments like that -- if I don’t get one, I think something’s wrong. :)

I joke that I have to put on my Al Capone face whenever I’m walking on the beach—otherwise, people might think I’m too sensitive, helpless, or privileged.

The summer ain't over yet. So happy tanning!

Some amazing pics in here, Alex. The way you’ve captured still and movement at the same time is incredible.

Fairest of them all ? …. The lady at water’s edge. All great shots.

The writing is superb. I love the humor peppered throughout. The photos are fantastic, as well. All in all, a joy to share. Thank you, Alex.

Great description of the beach and you. I had similar examples as a child on Jones beach with my drained out faux peach complexion. Love your line about your job as a sun reflector. We should have a white as death competition every year following Joey Chestnut and his hot dogs.

Thanks for the comment, Professor. I’m all for “white as death” competition. But I’m warning you — I might just win it🤛🏻🫨
