You young punks have it easy. I saw Nick Cave twice at Cabaret Metro in Chicago, once just four feet from the Marshall stacks. Even with earplugs in, my head rang like a gong for days. Raised stage? Ha! Pretty sure I swallowed some of Nick's spit after one of his plosives on Stagger Lee.

Love it, Right-Twice-a-Day! I wish I saw him in those days. My loss. I became a rabid fan just about ten years ago, alas, when I heard The Skeleton Tree. Then I went back in time and listened to every one of his recordings, including with The Birthdays Party. The man has staying power.

You would have been welcome to join. I could've shown you a pretty good time in Chicago back in those days. The town was mine.

I can't believe I haven't seen him live yet! Everyone I know who's been to one of his shows describes it as a nearly religious experience. Thanks a lot for sharing yours, just Alex😉

Thank you, Just Suzy :)

You should definitely see him when you get a chance.

I saw him on his solo tour with Colin Greenwood about two years ago. That was great too.

But to see him and his band is something else. A religious experience indeed.

Wonderful story Alex. The concert in Amsterdam a couple of months ago was one of the best that I ever seen and heard!

It’s an event and an experience, Marcel. He’s touring now. Maybe there’s a way for you to catch him still.

Hello fellow adorer of Nick Cave. I saw him last November in Cardiff and agree wholeheartedly with you all you write. What a wise, talented, brilliant man.

Wish I was there. I believe in the church of rock and roll.
