I went through my entire archive, looking for my best shots that seemed suited for The Sun, and submitted ten. Nada. But they get a thousand submissions a month, so after learning that, I'm no longer surprised. But I think they're only looking for images that go with what they have in the works at the time. So maybe I'll submit the same ones next year. :-)
Yes, they prefer to find something for the Readers Write section. But they've taken my photos before that didn't have anything to do with that section. I just got lucky four times. Can't complain. And they pay too -- I got $200 per photo.
Love this. A couple things: You have a great eye. With phone, camera, whatever. Keep shooting. Second, yes on Emilia Perez. A great movie! Third...I forget. I just wanted to say how much I've enjoyed your presence in my world, or vice versa. Whichever you prefer. Let's just say, I'm looking forward to another sandwich in Brooklyn.
Greetings Alex, I am fellow photographer and aikido practitioner. I totally agree with you about your aikido sentiments, it’s about showing up and as a result getting better gradually, not rushing anything. Aikido has changed my life and I’d also venture to say it changed my photography. It’s something I plan to write about more this year. If you’re ever around Woodstock or Catskill you are welcome to join us on the mat!
Thanks for your comment, Alon. It's great to hear from a fellow photographer and aikido practitioner. Is Harvey Konigsberg your head instructor? I've never met him, but he's a legend. My head instructor, Hal Lehrman, is Konigberg Sensei's friend and fellow instructor at New York Aikikai. I would love to some day practice with you and your comrades at Woodstock. I'm still a beginner -- a little less than two years on the mat -- and I'm already 62. Where was I thirty or even twenty years ago? :)
i love that spirit of showing up to participate! enjoy the holidays!
Thank you, perfectlight!!! Happy holidays to you as well!
Not exactly Aikido, but close enough

Love your Stories!
Show up, and something might happen! Don't show up, and guarantee that nothing will happen
Them's golden words, Donn.
Happy holidays!
Wise words!
I am glad you show up here on a regular basis. I enjoy your writing, your photos and your humor. Oh, and I loved seeing the video.
Happy Holidays!
Thanks so much, Susanne. I appreciate your support. Looking forward to more of your excellent photos and writing in 2025!

Thanks for the kind words, Mark. Yes, likewise.
Come by in January or February. It's nice and quiet.
I'm looking forward to more of your posts and photos in 2025!
